Questa casa è situata nel centro storico di Vieste, nello sperone di roccia che si affaccia nel mare Adriatico. L’antico insediamento medievale è incastonato nella bianca scogliera sul mare turchese.
Apparteneva a Tonino Guerra, rinomato sceneggiatore di Federico Fellini, e faceva parte di un antico ospitale, è incorporata nella chiesa seicentesca di San Pietro d’Alcantara.
Fisherman House in Vieste Puglia
This house is located in the historic center of Vieste, just on the spur of Italy, a small tongue of rock that juts out into the Adriatic sea. The ancient settlement of medieval origin is built on the white limestone cliffs that climb over the turquoise sea.
It belonged to Tonino Guerra, renowed Federico Fellini screenwriter, was part of an ancient hospital, and is incorporated into the underlying 17th-century church of San Pietro d’Alcantara.
The idea of the project was to bring back the original stone structure and to transmit that ancient aura that reigns in these historic places, consolidating and lightening the structures, burdened by numerous renovations over the millennia.
